Bones: The Complete Second Season

Christopher Ambrose, Elizabeth Benjamin, Gary Glasberg, Hart Hanson, Noah Hawley, Stephen Nathan, Lyta Oliver, Karine Rosenthal, Janet Tamaro, Dean Widenmann, and Scott Williams
Created by Hart Hanson
Inspired by the life of forensic anthropologist and author Kathy Reichs

The Mulder/Scully tension between outgoing FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and introverted forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) continues to underline the investigations in Fox's character-based procedural Bones. Inspired by the life of anthropologist and novelist Kathy Reichs, the sophomore season adds a new boss for Brennan in the form of Dr. Camille Saroyan (Tamara Taylor). The fact that she's also a love interest for Booth illustrates the dramatic economy of creator Hart Hanson, who invigorates the show's second outing with three more noteworthy new characters—a father (Ryan O'Neal) of dubious character and an FBI jack-of-all-trades (Eddie McClintock) for Brennan, and a brilliantly conceived shrink (Stephen Fry) for Booth. Each opens new avenues for characterization amongst the array of engaging murder cases. Fox outfits the second season with the same cursory creator commentaries and featurettes that offered insights into the series' last outing on DVD.
