'Allo 'Allo!: The Complete Series Nine

Jeremy Lloyd & Paul Adam
Created by Jeremy Lloyd & David Croft

Like M*A*S*H, the BBC’s World War II farce ‘Allo, ‘Allo outlasted the very conflict it sought to satirize as the series came to a close in its ninth season. In the final days, café owner René Artois (Gorden Kaye) finds himself embroiled in several last-ditch schemes as the various occupying factions seek to secure the priceless painting of “The Fallen Madonna.” Co-creator Jeremy Lloyd and writer Paul Adam steer the show to a satisfying conclusion that reunites many of the characters decades later for a hilarious denouement. Also included is a 1994 Best-Of special, though 2007’s The Return of ‘Allo, ‘Allo is noticeable by its absence.
